Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Cinema Plus ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and website (https://cinemaplus.nob.et).

1. Information we collect

Information stored on your device. The app saves preferences locally using on-device storage, including:

  • Theme and text size settings
  • Notification preference toggle
  • Saved favorites (bookmarks)
  • Recent search queries

This data stays on your phone unless you clear it from Settings → Clear cache & history.

Usage data. When you open a video, we increment an anonymous view count for that content item on our servers. This does not include your name, email, or account information because the app does not require sign-in.

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may process standard request logs such as IP address, browser or app user-agent, and timestamps when you access our API or website.

2. Third-party services

  • YouTube / Google — Videos play in an embedded YouTube player. Google's privacy policy applies to playback: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google AdSense — If enabled, ads may be shown in the app via web pages we host. Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. See Google advertising policies.
  • Supabase — Content metadata and view counts are stored in our database hosted by Supabase.

3. How we use information

  • Deliver and improve the app experience
  • Show curated content and related recommendations
  • Measure popular content through view counts
  • Display advertisements where configured
  • Respond to support requests

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app (hosting, database, advertising) and when required by law.

5. Children's privacy

Cinema Plus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.

6. Your choices

  • Clear on-device data anytime in app Settings
  • Disable notifications in app Settings
  • Manage ad personalization through your device or Google account settings

7. Security

We use HTTPS for API and website traffic. Admin access to content management is password-protected. No system is 100% secure; please use the app on trusted devices.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
